Getting started

How do I create a BudgetBloom account?
Click "Get started" from the homepage, enter your email and a password, and you will be taken into the app. There is no credit card required to try the Free plan.
Do I need to connect a bank account?
Connecting a bank account through Plaid lets BudgetBloom sync transactions and balances automatically, but it is optional. You can also enter accounts and transactions manually.
Which countries and banks are supported?
Bank syncing is provided through Plaid, which supports most major banks and credit unions in the United States and Canada. If your institution is not supported, manual accounts work everywhere.

Accounts and transactions

How often do my accounts sync?
Linked accounts refresh automatically in the background. You can also trigger a manual sync from the accounts page if you want to pull the latest data immediately.
Why is a transaction missing or duplicated?
Banks occasionally re-post pending transactions when they settle. BudgetBloom de-duplicates known patterns, but if something looks off you can edit or merge transactions from the transactions page.
Can I categorize transactions automatically?
Yes. BudgetBloom learns from how you categorize transactions and applies the same rules to similar future transactions. You can also create explicit categorization rules.

Budgets and goals

How are budgets calculated?
Each spending category has a monthly limit. As transactions come in and get categorized, BudgetBloom totals them against the limit so you can see where you stand at a glance.
Can I roll over unused budget into the next month?
Roll-over behavior is on the roadmap. Today, budgets reset at the start of each month so you always start fresh.
How do savings goals work?
Savings goals let you earmark money toward a specific outcome, like an emergency fund or a vacation. You can allocate manually or automate contributions on a schedule.

Billing and account

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Open Settings → Subscription inside the app. You can switch between Free and Pro at any time, and changes take effect immediately.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Settings → Subscription includes a "Cancel subscription" option. Your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
How do I delete my account?
You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Account. Deleting removes all of your data, including connected institutions and transactions.

Privacy and security

Is BudgetBloom secure?
Sensitive data is encrypted at rest, all traffic is served over HTTPS, and bank credentials are never stored on our servers. We use Plaid for institution connections so your login lives only with your bank.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal financial data with third parties. See the privacy policy for the full list of how data is used.
